Constitution of Nepal

The status of the Constitution of Nepal is currently uncertain. Presently, Nepal has no permanent constitution. However the country is governed by an Interim Constitution that came to effect from January 15, 2007. It was drafted by a committee headed by former justice Laxman Prasad Aryal.^[1] It replaces the previous Constitution of the Kingdom of Nepal, 2047 (1990).

Previous constitutions were enacted in 1951, 1959 and 1962.^[2]
