My Name Is Bruce is an American horror film, directed, co-produced by and starring B movie cult actor Bruce Campbell. The film was written by Mark Verheiden. It is set for a theatrical release in October 2008 followed by a DVD release in January 2009.[1]
Although Sam Raimi, whom Bruce frequently collaborates, is not involved with this production, much of the film is in the vein of the Evil Dead series. However, Ted Raimi (Sam's brother), also a frequent collaborator, is starring in this film.
According to Campbell, the film is nearly completed with post-production. The only edits needed is the replacement of the current stereo track with full 5.1 surround sound and some re-shoots after the studio financed more into the production. Campbell has shown several minutes of this upcoming movie during some of his campus lectures, as well as a few public screenings including showings at the 6th Annual Ashland Independent Film Festival, CineVegas and the 11th Annual East Lansing Film Festival. A trailer was recently released for the film as well and is available on various websites.

The plot revolves around Campbell, playing a sleazy version of himself, who, after being harassed and mistaken by fans to be a character much like Ash from the Evil Dead series of horror films, is abducted from his trailer park home to fight against Guan Di, a Chinese war deity.
Dark Horse Comics' Mike Richardson, said that Bruce Campbell's My Name is Bruce will hit theaters this October.[2]
"Some people maybe thought the film fell out or that there was something wrong with it," Richardson says, touching on Bruce's slow journey getting before wide audiences. It was roughly a year ago that it screened to CineVegas film fest attendees. "We did our shoot, put it in the can and the studio that financed it liked it so much they gave us more money to do a second shoot. We beefed it up so it could go into the theaters."[2]
Richardson said that a sequel, titled My Name is Still Bruce, is in the works as well. Dark Horse Entertainment and Image Entertainment will distribute both films.[2]
